Amazon announced plans for a brand-new 650,000 square-foot IXD facility in Montgomery. Located between I-65 and Highway 31, north of Hyundai Boulevard, the new facility represents a $100M capital investment, and will provide 500 jobs to the River Region.

It was announced today that the Montgomery Area Chamber of Commerce has won the prestigious Mac Conway Award for Excellence in Economic Development for the second year in a row. This award is presented by Site Selection magazine to the nation’s top 20 local economic development organizations for their outstanding results in bringing prosperity to their communities.

This morning, Dollar General announced the official grand opening of its newest DG Fresh cold storage facility, a 450,000 square foot operation in Montgomery, Alabama in partnership with State and local representatives. Honored guests who participated in the virtual event included Alabama Governor Kay Ivey, Montgomery Mayor Steven L. Reed, Montgomery County Commission Chairman Elton Dean and Montgomery Area Chamber of Commerce Chairman Arthur DuCote.

Today, the Montgomery Area Chamber of Commerce, along with state and local elected officials, joined Gerhardi, Inc., at the grand opening of their Montgomery facility, its first in North America. The company has invested $41.6 million in the new facility which will employ up to 235 employees.
