Confidence, Connection, and Courage Define Four Star Women's Retreat

Montgomery, AL (April 23, 2025) – Women from Four Star Freightliner’s Alabama, Georgia, and Florida locations gathered on April 17–18 for the company’s 4th annual Women’s Retreat, held at the scenic Callaway Gardens in Pine Mountain, Georgia.

With women representing nearly 20% of Four Star’s workforce, the retreat brought together 30 of the 44 female employees for two days of inspiration, reflection, and personal development under the theme “Empowered Beauty.”

“Empowered Beauty goes beyond the reflection in the mirror; it embodies the strength, confidence, and authenticity within us,” said Suzy Herring, Human Resources Director for Four Star Freightliner and retreat organizer. “Each year Jerry has blessed us women at Four Star with this unique opportunity. We’ve enjoyed this added benefit and the chance to come together, calibrate, and encourage one another. This year was no exception, but it surpasses all previous ones. We came together to celebrate our uniqueness, support each other, create a ripple effect of positivity, and a sense of community among the 'Empowered Beauties of Four Star.'”

Thursday’s activities included enjoying the amenities of Callaway Gardens followed by an evening workshop focused on personality types, where participants explored how different “shapes” — square, circle, triangle, and zigzag — reflected their personalities and how to relate to others. The session closed with the women creating their own floral arrangements, a personal touch to end a meaningful day.

On Friday, the group was joined by 2013 Miss America Mallory Hagan, who led a powerful session on building confidence and setting healthy boundaries. Hagan’s open dialogue inspired intense discussion and emotional testimonies among the women. The day continued with an interactive self-defense workshop led by Robert and Penny Moore of Invictus Combatives Academy in LaGrange, Georgia. The session provided practical training in physical self-protection, equipping participants with skills to stay safe and feel empowered.
