Montgomery, Ala - June 24th, 2025 —
Montgomery Whitewater Park is excited to announce the launch of its newest high-adventure experience: whitewater tubing! Participants will navigate a whitewater-certified inflatable tube through our whitewater channel system. Unlike traditional river tubing, this activity involves whitewater rapids, in-water obstacles, and quick turns. Participants should be prepared for active movement and a fully immersive whitewater experience.
This new activity offers a more active take on traditional tubing, combining the approachable format of a single-person float with the challenge and movement of whitewater rafting. Two tubing options will be available: Full-Flow Whitewater Tubing, which delivers a high-intensity, fast-moving experience; and Low-Flow Whitewater Tubing, which provides a more approachable—but still high-energy—version of the activity. Both options call for active navigation and full rider engagement.
Launching Friday, July 4 as part of Montgomery Whitewater’s “Red, White, and Tube” celebration, whitewater tubing invites guests to navigate the channel system in specially designed, whitewater-certified inflatable tubes. Riders will steer using their hands as they travel through waves, currents, and quick turns—encountering in-water obstacles along the way.
“This is not a lazy river,” said Jason Wilson, Executive Director, Montgomery Whitewater. “Whitewater tubing gives guests a whole new way to experience the power of the course—no experience required, just a sense of adventure.”
Key Details:
- Single Ride Pass: $25 for a 90-minute trip. Additional same-day rides can be booked for $10 each (based on availability).

- Safety & Equipment: All participants are provided with a helmet, personal flotation device (PFD), and whitewater-certified tube.
- Ages: Riders must be at least 8 years old. Ages 8–11 must have a parent or guardian in a separate tube on the water.

- Full Flow Tubing: Montgomery Whitewater tubes are limited to the Creek Channel during full flow time slots. Privately owned whitewater tubes may access both channels.
- Low Flow Tubing: Montgomery Whitewater tubes are open to both courses during low-flow time slots.
- Privately Owned Whitewater Tubes: All privately owned tubes must be whitewater certified.
- Note: Whitewater Tubes are not permitted on the conveyor belt. Participants must be able to carry their tube to and from the put-in and take-out locations.
Whitewater tubing is a fun and exciting way to experience the energy of the course in a seated, individual ride format. Whether you choose the intensity of full-flow or the more moderate—but still active—pace of low-flow, participants should be ready to actively navigate the course and fully engage with the whitewater environment. Designed as a lower price point amenity, whitewater tubing offers an approachable entry into whitewater recreation. Montgomery Whitewater is also now offering whitewater duckies as a single-ride pass option at the same price, giving guests even more ways to get on the water.
