Outdoor Ice Skating Returns to Montgomery Whitewater This Fall

MONTGOMERY, Ala. — August 19, 2025 — Montgomery Whitewater is excited to announce the return of outdoor ice skating for its second season! Opening Friday, November 14, 2025, and operating through Presidents Day, Monday, February 16, 2026, guests will skate on real ice, engineered with a state-of-the-art coil cooling system—not synthetic panels—while enjoying expanded food & beverage options, fire pits, and the Camp Fire Music series on Friday and Saturday nights.
 
This seasonal amenity is the perfect way to create lasting holiday memories with friends and family, whether gathered around the fire pits, taking in live music, or enjoying the festive atmosphere under the lights.
 
“Ice skating at Montgomery Whitewater has quickly become a winter tradition,” said Jason Wilson, Executive Director. “Our outdoor rink has attracted visitors far beyond Montgomery not only because of the unique environment we offer, but also because it’s such a unique experience to skate outdoors on real ice in the heart of Alabama. The lights, the music, and the cozy atmosphere make it special not just during the holidays, but throughout the colder months when people are looking for something joyful to do together.”

• Real-Ice Outdoor Rink: Advanced coil system ensures high-quality ice all season.
• Skate Rentals: Sizes from Toddler 9Y through Adult 14.
• Camp Fire Music: Fridays & Saturdays, Nov. 14 – Feb. 14.
• Expanded F&B + Fire Pits: Seasonal menus, warm beverages, and cozy gathering areas.
• 12-Month Operation: Ice skating joins our land sports amenities for year-round recreation.
• Annual Pass Holders Skate Free: Included as part of annual memberships.

 
Tickets & Programming

• Public Skating: 
  • $20 per person for a 90-minute session. 
  • Pre-booking opens Tuesday, August 19th on the Montgomery Whitewater Website
  • Early booking is strongly encouraged — sessions sold out quickly last season.
